Project Officer, Consortium national de formation en santé (CNFS)

Responsibilities
The Consortium national de formation en santé at Laurentian University (CNFS-LU) aims to improve access to bilingual health professionals in official language minority communities and increase health services targeting these communities. As such, CNFS-LU engages in recruitment and retention activities and helps improve and strengthen the various health programs offered in French. CNFS-LU also contributes to research capacity development to better grasp the health needs of Ontario’s francophone communities.
Reporting to the manager of CNFS-LU, the incumbent will develop, implement and assess various CNFS-LU activities. The incumbent will represent CNFS-LU and Laurentian University at a variety of events on campus or in the community to improve visibility and outreach. The incumbent must be able to correspond with a large number of participants and community partners and perform various administrative tasks according to methods in place.
The project officer must carry out part or all of the following duties:
- Prepare detailed work plans;
- Implement recruitment, training and research activities, and coordinate with participating departments and
- organizations ;
- Facilitate training or information sessions for high school and postsecondary students ;
- Evaluate CNFS projects and activities by collecting quantitative and qualitative data ;
- Ensure regular updates and management of social media accounts ;
- Supports the process of evaluating bursary applications and research proposals ;
- Conduct research to develop new initiatives and partnerships ;
- Collect and compile the data and information required in the Health Canada template ;
- Maintain financial records and check final invoices;
- Respond to inquiries ;
- Maintain and prepare reports from paper or electronic files, inventories, mailing lists or databases ;
- Process incoming and outgoing correspondence received by mail or electronically ;
- Sort, verify and process request forms, receipts, expenses and other documents.
Qualifications
- A university degree, preferably in the health field
- A minimum of two years of experience in project management
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and manage priorities while working on multiple projects

- Fluency in spoken and written French and English
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, networking, collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Excellent sense of organization, initiative, tact and discretion
- Capacity for critical analysis
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work flexible hours (occasionally)
- Computer skills, including Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Calendar), email
- and internet
- Proficiency with social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter).
The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
